Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) shared a poorly-acted video of a woman tearing down a classroom Pride flag and then giving the teacher a piece of her mind. The video is fairly obviously a scripted skit.
“GOD BLESS THIS MAMA!!!!! I stand with her!!!” Greene wrote while sharing the video. “Teachers are paid by taxpayers – the PARENTS!!! Get the LGBTQ propaganda out of the schools!”
She has devoted a big part of her time in Congress to attacking LGBTQ+ people.
The video shows a woman in a cap entering a room and tearing away a Progress Pride flag from the wall to reveal a map of the U.S. The “teacher” – an older woman in a gray pantsuit behind a lectern – shouts, “What are you doing?”

“Not! Not!” the cap-woman shouts incoherently as she balls up the rainbow flag and puts it in the trash. “I can’t! I am not… paying my tax… money… to support… this type of now!”
The teacher shouts, “Get out!” repeatedly at the cap-woman.
“Why do you have this hanging and why do you have this hanging up, up in here?” the cap-woman says, and teacher responds, “It’s part of the students here!”
The video continues to show the two women barely speaking English back and forth. At one point the teacher says, “Excuse me, this is a public school, little lady! You are a get out!”
“I’m teaching my son to grow up to be a man!” the cap-woman shouts back. “And I won’t want you hanging on flag!”
“You gonna sit up there and teach them the type of stuff I’m trying to keep them away from.”
After people pointed out that the video is fake, Greene said that it didn’t matter.
“If this is a fake or a skit, it’s a very good representation of exactly how people feel,” she claimed.
